starts back in 2021 when I learned that just because something says "genuine leather" doesn’t actually mean it’s good quality, it just means it has some leather in it. (Classic corporate greed...)
That got me curious and so I ended up diving into the world of leather where I found a few makers along the way like Corter Leather who were selling patterns and tutorials on how to make your own stuff.
I bought a basic leather kit, grabbed some leather, and started making my first wallet, a double slider. It wasn’t perfect by any means with rough, with barely burnished edges, but my dad loved it and he still uses it to this day.
Then, I made another wallet for my then-girlfriend’s (now wife’s) dad, and he loved it too. I started showing my friends, and before I knew it, they were asking for wallets of their own and so were their friends! It wasn’t long before I was making matching belts for groomsmen at a close friend’s wedding.
Since then, things have really snowballed, and I’ve been lucky to have the support of an amazing community that’s helped me turn this passion into a business. Most of my business comes through word of mouth, friends of friends, the Poulsbo Farmers Market, and local holiday shows.
I'm pouring everything the business makes back into itself to see how far we can take this thing. I hope you join me for the ride.
